BIBLE FAITH, Part 1

Many people today talk and talk about their faith. They are usually referring to their faith in God. Who do you put your faith in tonight? Is faith something that just falls on someone or is it something that can be developed? The answer is that if you do not have faith in God tonight, you can develop your faith in the one and only God and Creator of all! He is the only one that can give you forgiveness and eternal life!

Maybe you think that you have faith in God, but you are not following God's commandments. You may be very active and spend a lot of energy in your faith. But if your faith is not according to God's Word or His knowledge, your faith and energy is misplaced (Romans 10:1-3, Matthew 7:21-23, James 1:22-25).

Ways to increase Faith (Luke 17:5, 2 Peter 1:5-8)

A. Listen to the Word (Neh. 8:2-3, 8, Romans 10:17, Rev. 2:7)

B. Accept His Word! (John 20:30-31) [e.g., life on other planets (Is. 45:18)]

C. Obey the Word (John 14:15, James 1:21-25).

D. Study of The Word (Acts 17:11, 1 Tim. 4:15-16, 2 Tim. 2:15)

1. Continue in Faith (Acts 14:21-22, Col.1:23)

2. Stand Fast in the Faith (1 Cor. 16:13, Phil. 1:27, 4:1)

E. Remember God is Creator of All (Eccl. 12:1, Ps. 33:6-9, Heb. 11:3, I Peter 4:19).

1. We should stand in Awe!

F. Through Prayer (Luke 17:5, James 1:5-8, 5:16-20) - There is no doubting in faithful prayer of the child of God.

CONCLUSION: Is your faith misplaced tonight? Is your faith in the teachings of man (Matthew 15:8-9)? To say you have faith is not enough. To have zeal is not enough. Bible faith is a faith of action. One that hears God's Word, Respects God's Word, and Obeys God's Word (1 John 5:1-13). Are you following Him tonight. We encourage you with all our hearts, that you would believe (have faith) in God and obey Him, before it is too late!

Next time, Lord Willing, we will look at examples of Bible Faith to see what kind of faith they teach us we should have.
