"Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the
morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth." (Hosea 6:3)
History tells us that when Crowfoot, the chief of the Blackfoot nation in southern Alberta, gave
the Canadian Pacific Railway permission to lay track from Medicine Hat to Calgary, he was given
in exchange a lifetime railroad pass. Reportedly, Crowfoot put the pass in a leather pouch and
wore it around his neck for the rest of his life -- but he never once availed himself of the rights and
privileges it spelled out. (From Bible Illustrator)
It is tragic when Christians do the same with the Word of God. It is wrong to use the Bible as a decorative badge, but never availing oneself of the wealth it affords. Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord and we will be blessed.
